The Graduate Entry Pathway (GEP) is a direct entry program for non-nurses with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing, leading first to Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, then to a doctorate program. Upon completion of the GEP Program, nurses may begin their DNP coursework. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track (AGACNP) is designed to prepare graduates in advanced nursing practice. This program equips future AGCNPs with the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers caring for acute, acute on chronic, and critically ill adult patients. Graduates are prepared as nurse practitioners who will be leaders in clinical practice, nursing education, health policy and healthcare delivery systems.
Our program utilizes innovative methods for education including simulation, standardized patient experiences and case-based learning to develop the critical thinking and skills needed to practice as an AGACNP. Expert educators and clinicians are vital participants in delivery of our didactic sessions, as clinical faculty, and as clinical preceptors, which elevates the experience for our students.
